Crime and Punishment

A Tideswellman Government will make the empowerment of communities a central part of our policies.

The bond between the police and the public must be rebuilt, and the first step will be cutting the paperwork which ties officers to their desks:

* I will reform the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act , which regulates police surveillance, so that authorisation is not needed in straightforward cases.
I will also make CCTV centres more open and transparent to combat the misuse of surveillance powers by local authorities. They will all be open to the public, and the film footage made publicly viewable upon request.
* I will strengthen police powers of punishment and fine to enable officers to respond decisively to incidents or threats of serious crime. Officers will be able to issue fines, and publicly name and shame perpetrators of social crime such as Anti social behaviour and littering.

Directly-elected police commissioners will represent the will of local people by being answerable to the local Council. All police forces will hold quarterly beat meetings, to enable local communities to hold their police force to account.

In order to ensure that we have adequate space to house offendersradical steps will be taken. All offenders found guilty of Murder or Rape (by DNA evidence) will be executed.

All Child sex offenders will be sterilised (except in cases where consent was given) eg 16 year old man with 15 year old girl.

Other crimes will have punishments to fit. Violent disorder convicts, burglars and muggers will be publicly and locally flogged, as well as serve prison terms.

Early release schemes will end and LIFE will mean LIFE, and introduce honesty in sentencing. Offenders will receive minimum and maximum sentences; there will be no possibility of parole before the minimum has been served, and release before the maximum point will be conditional on the prisoner’s exceptional progress in prison.

We will also legislate to create a presumption that anyone convicted of knife crimes will receive a prison sentence as well as a public flogging.

All drug related criminals will face a mandatory term in the Army.

Britons cannot tackle crime unless we also address the causes of crime, such as family breakdown, drug abuse and alcohol abuse.

British politics =pompous and corrupt:::create your own agenda.

Countryside

Our countryside is home to beautiful landscapes, spectacular views and some of Britain’s most loved towns and villages.

Many rural communities are struggling. There is a poor transport poor transport infrastructure, a lack of affordable housing and hidden poverty. In addition, many of their most valuable services - schools, post offices and health care facilities – are under threat.

A Tideswellman Government will breathe new life into the countryside with a series of measures, including:

* Shifting decision-making away from central government to local communities whilst ensuring funding.
* Increasing access to public services, by supporting small rural schools and protecting family doctor services
* Set quotas of affordable housing to be built each year in all areas, with a 60/40% bias toward local people on all sales until demand is met.

For Farmers and Gardeners.

* Make it easier to buy British by improving food labeling
* Use public procurement to strengthen the link between food grown in our fields and the meals served in our schools and hospitals
* Encourage the increase of allotments so that people can supplement their diets with their own healthy options.
* Take a stand against GM crops and the production of Biofuels, which are damaging our ecosystems
* Support forestry development, local tourism, allow controlled civilian tree planting on unused public land.

Community Relations

I propose Building stronger, more integrated communities in Britain.

"State-driven multiculturalism, uncontrolled immigration and the threat of extremism have led to an increase in distrust and segregation, and left us with divided communities" (Conservatives). Immigration will be restricted to professional people who have actually attained a position within the country.

A Tideswellman Government will create a Britain where people from different backgrounds can celebrate their diversity while sharing common civic values and national pride. British institutions and holidays will be celebrated first and foremost all "PC" rules will be removed. The union Flag will fly from all civic buildings at all times, it will be acceptable to fly the English, Scottish and Welsh National Flags alongside the union flag, but not instead of. British holidays and cultural practices will be paramount and will be publicized in the media and financially aided by the government to ensure their revival

Tideswellman will unite Britain’s communities with a package of measures:

* Supporting the growth of community groups based on their effectiveness in creating social cohesion and combating the effects of Poverty
* Devolving power to local authorities, who are better placed to make decisions for their communities
* Offering English language instruction for all to cement the English language as the bedrock of our national identity. A basic English language Qualification will be compulsory to all citizens who were born abroad and have been in the country less than 10 years.
* Tackling non British cultural practices, such as forced marriage and female genital mutilation, honour killing.

The contributions of people from all genders, races, ethnicities and religions will be comprehensively collated into a canon of British history and achievement, and integrated into the national curriculum.

Aims & actions

This blog will lay down my own political manifesto over a number of political issues.
You may not agree with the ideas, but they are not a platform for a political party, simply a series of political opinions based on dogma. Whether you love or hate the ideas simply post your manifesto ideas in the comments box if you'd like to see things run differently.
